UP Economy Boost: Ram ji will sail the raft...Religious tourism will create an economy of more than 500 billion dollars in UP

The Kalamkar News, Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha: With the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, religious tourism is getting a boost in Uttar Pradesh. 

The objective of 'Prashad' scheme launched by the Central Government is to promote religious tourism in the country. It is expected that by the end of 2024, there will be a benefit of about Rs 4 lakh crore from tourists coming to UP. 

This figure is almost double compared to the year 2022. Focusing on the importance of UP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said a few days ago during the election rally in Buldshahar that developed India is not possible without the development of Uttar Pradesh.

Time to give new heights to the country: PM

PM Modi said, 'I had said in the presence of Ramlala in Ayodhya that the work of consecration has been completed, now is the time to give new heights to the country. 

Paving the way for us from 'Dev to Desh' and 'Ram to Nation'. Our aim is to make the country a developed nation by 2047. The Prime Minister also said that developed India is not possible without rapid development of Uttar Pradesh.

Highest number of domestic tourists in UP:

According to a study by the Economic Research Department of State Bank of India, spiritual tourism has rapidly increased the tourism potential in Uttar Pradesh. 

The study also made it clear that Uttar Pradesh is at the top in terms of maximum domestic tourists in 2022. It is at fifth place in terms of foreign tourists. According to the estimates of the state government, 32 crore tourists will visit different places in UP in 2022.

More than Rs 2 lakh crore was spent,

out of Rs 32 crore, 2.21 crore tourists came to Ayodhya alone. More than Rs 2 lakh crore was spent by domestic tourists during 2022. The expenditure by foreign tourists was around Rs 10,500 crore. 

SBI report said that these figures will double by the end of 2024. Due to the huge surge in the number of tourists during the financial year 2025, the state government will get additional tax revenue of Rs 20,000-25,000 crore.

Boost received from Prashad Scheme:

The report said that the Centre's Prashad Scheme has played an important role in promoting spiritual journey. The report also said that in the coming time, India can consider making a tourism map which can easily connect domestic historical places with Angkor Wat, Sri Lanka, Batu Caves and Pashupatinath. Apart from promoting religious tourism, UP has also made progress in agriculture, industry and service sectors.
