The Kalamkar News (Agriculture News): Farmers are being motivated to cultivate Garma paddy under the National Food Security Mission in Gumla district.

For this, paddy seeds are being given to the farmers free of cost. So far, 64.5 quintals of free Garma paddy seeds have been given to the farmers in Gumla district, so that its cultivation can be improved.

Gumla is home to many tribal people who live in backward areas. The main occupation of the people here is agriculture because there are no big factories, industries and railways.

Technical Manager of Aatma, Ajit Kumar said that there are many benefits in the cultivation of Garma Paddy. Gives more production in less time.

Due to which the income of farmers will increase. Free seeds and training are being given to farmers to make them technically competent.

Most of the people here depend on agriculture. Being dependent on monsoon, farmers can cultivate paddy only once in a year. To avoid these, farmers are being advised to cultivate hot paddy. You can also do it outside monsoon if there is adequate water supply.

Know the hot rice suitable in watery areas. There is more scope for cultivation of Garma paddy in areas with rivers, reservoirs and water.

This can be done even during paddy monsoon and winter. Cultivation of garma paddy is still possible in the district where adequate water resources are available. It can be sown till March this year.

National Food Security Mission has given DRRH2 hybrid paddy seeds free of cost to the farmers to promote the cultivation of Garma paddy.

Only six kg seeds are used in 1 acre. The yield of this seed is high and it is ready in 110 to 115 days. Also, the plants produced from this seed are less prone to pests and diseases, which is very beneficial for the farmers.

You can earn more money in less time. And its plants do not get sick. There is a plan to cultivate hot paddy on 430 hectares of land in the district.
