Bypass facilities in 63 districts

Bypass facilities are available in 63 districts of Uttar Pradesh to deal with the problem of traffic jam. Bypasses are being built at some places. PWD has told the government that at present there is no bypass or ring road in twelve districts. Due to this people are facing traffic jams.

These districts are Bahraich, Gonda, Mirzapur, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Bhadohi, Bulandshahar, Sambhal, Chandauli, Baghpat and Shravasti.

Work on the plan to build bypasses has started in five of these districts: Bahraich, Gonda, Mirzapur, Mainpuri and Farrukhabad. Proposals have been sought from the concerned District Magistrates for building the bypass.

They have also been told that the proposal should be made in consultation with public representatives. The construction of the bypass will be included in the action plan after receiving the proposal from the District Magistrate.

In the report sent to the government, PWD said that at present there is no need to build separate bypasses in Auraiya, Bhadohi, Bulandshahr, Sambhal, Chandauli, Baghpat and Shravasti.

With the help of the central government, six national highways passing through these districts can be made bypasses, but construction of bypasses in Bahraich, Gonda, Mirzapur and Mainpuri is mandatory.

As a result, before including the bypass construction in the action plan, proposals have been sought from the District Magistrates of the said districts. Also, the department has estimated the expenditure of Rs 626.60 crore on the construction of the bypass to be built in Farrukhabad.

The government has also kept a budget of Rs 350 crore for the construction of the ring road and bypass, which can be increased to Rs 1,050 crore.

PWD department head Yogesh Pawar said that the process of making an action plan will be started after receiving proposals from the District Magistrates.
