Dr. Jagdish Gandhi was born on 10 November 1936 in Barsauli village. It falls in Sikandrarau of Aligarh district of UP. Talking about education, he studied from GS College, Sikanderau till high school.
After that he passed 12th from Champa Aggarwal College, Mathura. He did his graduation from Lucknow University. From there he took a bachelor's degree in commerce.
Dr. Gandhi was 11 years old and he was distraught after hearing the sad news of Mahatma Gandhi's death. At that very moment he decided to follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi throughout his life and decided to change his name from 'Jagdish Agarwal' to 'Jagdish Gandhi'.
In his childhood, Jagdish Gandhi was influenced by his uncle, Prabhu Dayal, who was a veteran freedom fighter and a social activist in India's freedom struggle.
Took inspiration from him for social service. Dayal went to jail several times during India's freedom struggle. Since childhood, Jagdish Gandhi was deeply influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's teachings of truth and non-violence and he always dreamed of meeting him in person.
Jagdish Gandhi was ill. After a 25-day struggle in the hospital, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi died on 22 January 2024 at the age of 87.
