Thousands of farmers from 50 districts have applied for compensation for damaged crops. Yogi government has recently given strict instructions to the officials to go to the fields of the farmers and collect the details of the crops. So that money can be deposited in the farmers' accounts according to the bad crops.
The Kalamkar News (Bureau). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to conduct a survey to compensate the farmers for the damage caused to their crops due to unseasonal rain and hailstorm in the state.
According to an official statement issued here on Sunday, Yogi has asked all the District Magistrates, Deputy District Magistrates (SDM) and Tehsildars to immediately conduct a survey on the spot and provide complete information to the concerned department so that compensation can be credited to the accounts of the farmers within 24 hours. Funds can be sent. According to the information, the survey has to be completed in all the districts today.
Yogi has also instructed the officials not to be negligent in paying compensation. He said that if negligence of any officer comes to light, strict action will be taken against him.
More than seven thousand farmers from 50 districts applied
The statement said that till March 2, more than seven thousand farmers from 50 districts have applied for compensation for damaged crops.
According to the statement, after the completion of the survey, compensation for the loss of crops will be given from the insurance companies as well as the revenue department. At the same time, the relief department has issued an alert in view of the bad weather and has appealed to the people to leave their homes only for urgent work.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Principal Secretary Revenue P. Guru Prasad has instructed all the District Magistrates, SDMs and Tehsildars of the state to conduct on-site surveys to compensate the farmers for crop loss due to hailstorm.
Besides, instructions have also been given to post the survey report on the department's portal as soon as possible. According to the relief department portal, 7020 farmers from 50 districts have applied for compensation for damaged crops. In comparison, survey work of 2681 applications has been completed while survey is being conducted on 4339 applications.
Expectations of further increase in compensation applications
It is estimated that in view of the bad weather, the applications for compensation for damaged crops may increase further. Maximum 1256 farmers of Hamirpur have applied for compensation for damaged crops.
Similarly, 997 farmers of Jalaun, 969 of Mirzapur, 812 of Lalitpur, 650 of Jhansi and 580 of Banda have applied for compensation for damaged crops, while more than 100 farmers from half a dozen districts have applied for compensation.
