The Kalamkar News : Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) preparations to connect Dwarka Expressway with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway have intensified. On Monday, Principal Advisor of Urban Development DS Dhesi called a meeting.
Apart from GMDA Chief Executive Officer A Srinivas, Chief Engineers Arun Dhankhar and Rajesh Bansal were present. Dhesi directed the officials to connect these two expressways through elevated expressways. The process of appointing a consultant will be started in this regard.
The Gurugram portion of Dwarka Expressway has started functioning from March 11. If a driver has to go towards
Gurugram-Mumbai Expressway or Gurugram-Faridabad Road from this expressway, then he moves on SPR. Sectors 68 to 79 are developed on both sides of SPR. In such a situation, drivers have to get stuck in traffic jams in the morning and evening. It takes 15 to 20 minutes for drivers to cross this six kilometer long road.
If these two expressways will be connected through elevated expressway then it will take five to six minutes for the drivers. Due to this, residents of developed sectors on both sides of SPR will not face any problem in commuting.
cloverleaf will also be made
A cloverleaf has been built near village Khedkidaula on Dwarka Expressway to connect it with Delhi-Jaipur Highway. Elevated expressway will be constructed till Vatika Chowk. According to GMDA's plan, cloverleaf will be built near Vatika Chowk on NH 248A. This will provide relief to drivers plying on the elevated portion of Mumbai Expressway, Golf Course Extension Road and NH 248A.
underpass monitoring
In the meeting, Principal Advisor of Urban Development DS Dhesi gave directions to the officials to maintain the underpass near the Millennium City Center metro station. The cleanliness of the underpass should be maintained. The tiles should be painted. Cracks have started appearing at some places on the road, which should be repaired. He said that there should not be any negligence in monitoring.
GMDA Chief Engineer Arun Dhankhar said, 'There is a plan to connect Dwarka Expressway with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Gurugram portion of Dwarka Expressway has been opened. At the same time, construction is currently going on on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. After the completion of these two expressways, there will be more traffic on SPR.
