India vs England: Ashwin will become India's number-1 spinner in the England series! Will do wonders as soon as he takes so many wickets

IND vs ENG Test Series 2024: The Test series between India and England is to start from January 25. In this series, Team India's spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin is a few steps away from making a big record in his name. Ashwin will become India's number-1 bowler by taking 8 wickets in this series.

The Kalamkar News, Hyderabad. The last match of this almost two month long series will be held in Dharamshala from March 11. Both the teams are engaged in rigorous preparations. 

In this series, all eyes are going to be on Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He can make not just one or two but many big records in his name. 

Ashwin can become the Indian bowler who has taken the most wickets in Test matches against England, leaving behind Anil Kumble and veteran bowler Chandrashekhar.

Ashwin can become number-1

Ravichandran Ashwin is the third Indian bowler to take the most wickets in Test matches against England. He has 88 wickets in his name in 19 matches.

If he takes 8 more wickets in the upcoming series, he will become the Indian bowler taking the most wickets in Test matches against England. Anil Kumble (92 wickets) and BS Chandrashekhar (95 wickets) are ahead of Ashwin. At the same time, James Anderson is the bowler who has taken the most wickets in India-England Test matches with 139 wickets. 

Ashwin close to completing 500 test wickets 

This experienced spinner of India has taken 490 wickets in 95 tests. He is just 10 wickets away from completing 500 Test wickets. R Ashwin's performance on home soil is excellent. In such a situation, there is full hope that he can complete 500 test wickets in the upcoming series. 

Former Indian captain Anil Kumble is currently the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests. Kumble ended his illustrious Test career with 619 wickets in 132 Test matches.

Spinner bowler taking most wickets in test

Off-spinner Ashwin will become the ninth bowler and only the fifth spinner in the world to take 500 wickets. Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708), Anil Kumble (619), and Nathan Lyon (512) have achieved this feat before Ashwin. 

Along with this, if he plays all five matches of the series, he will also complete 100 test matches playing for India. He will be the 14th Indian cricketer to play 100 or more test matches for India.
