Bihar Monsoon Rain: Due to the indifference of monsoon, drought conditions have arisen in the state. Due to lack of water in the state, nurseries are burning in the fields and where the plantation has been done, the crops have dried up. Only 45 percent plantation has been done so far.

According to agricultural scientists, 70-75 percent of long and medium duration paddy should have been planted. The plantation of short duration paddy should have been done by now. The least plantation has been done in Banka district at 2 percent.

While the highest plantation of 94 percent has been done in Katihar. Only 29.58 percent paddy has been planted in Patna district. According to agricultural scientists, if it does not rain for four-five days, the situation of drought will become more terrible.

Even in Rohtas district, which is called the rice bowl, only 13 percent of the sowing has been done so far. Bittu Singh, a farmer of Seve village of Rajpur block of Rohtas, has planted rice in 10 acres. The rice is ready to be planted, but due to lack of  water we are not able to do the sowing.

This is the situation of most of the farmers. Milan Singh of Bhanwar village of Nokha plants rice in 20 acres. He says that the canal water is not reaching the fields.

The condition of electricity is also not good. Due to this, the motor is also not able to run. There is no trace of diesel subsidy either. Cracks have appeared in the fields of Hare Ram Sharma and Sudhanshu Singh of Kanchanpur in Bihta.

Bihar Agricultural University's Sabour Director of Research Dr Anil Kumar Singh said that by the end of July, 70-75 percent of the sowing should have been done in most areas of the state and 100 percent of the sowing should have been done by the first week of August. Due to which there will be no loss in production. If sowing has to be done after this, then production may be affected. If the weather is unfavorable, then keep the seedlings safe.

Patna needs 1200 cusecs of    water every day

Patna should get 1200 cusecs of water every day in the canal from Balidad Lakh. Ajay Kumar, President of Patna District Krishak Sangharsh Morcha, says that the Tatil system should be strictly implemented inside the canal.

This will enable the farmers of Bihta, Bikram, Paliganj, Naubatpur, Dulhin Bazar, Phulwarisharif to get sufficient water for irrigation in their fields.
