The Kalamkar News, New Delhi: Tripura government employees have received a big gift before the Lok Sabha elections. Before Holi, the government has increased Dearness Allowance (DA) by 5%. 

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday announced that state government employees will get 5 percent additional dearness allowance.

Tripura government has announced to give 5 percent additional DA to government employees. Chief Minister Manik Saha announced to give 5 percent additional dearness allowance to pensioners and state government employees. 

Announcing this in the Assembly, he said that this decision will benefit 82,000 pensioners and 1,06,932 employees of the state.

Announcement of increase from January 1

The Chief Minister said that the increase in dearness allowance will be implemented from January 1. Dearness allowance of employees and pensioners has increased by 25 percent. 1 lakh employees will benefit from this.  

500 crore burden on government treasury

The government decision and five percent increase in dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 500 crore on the government exchequer. This announcement can give a lot of benefit to the government before the Lok Sabha elections. Central employees are still waiting for this gift.

Dearness allowance also troubles central employees. The central government can give a big gift to its employees before Holi (Holi 2024). It is believed that the central government can increase dearness allowance by four percent. 

Dearness allowance for central government employees can be increased by up to 50 percent, according to the recently released Industrial Workers by Labor Bureau, a wing of the Ministry of Labour.
