The Kalamkar News:- 7th Pay Commission: Central employees have got a big gift before Diwali, in which dearness allowance (DA Hike update) has been increased by 3 percent. Along with this, both DA and Direct Retirement (DR) have been increased by 3 percent, taking it from 50 to 53 percent.

This increase started a discussion whether DA will be merged into the basic salary. If this happens, then significant changes can be seen in the salary of government employees.

Will dearness allowance be merged in basic salary-

On October 16, the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees was increased by 3 percent, taking it from 50 percent to 53 percent.

As a result, a discussion started whether the dearness allowance should be merged with the basic salary. This is not the first time, earlier also during the Sixth Pay Commission, when the dearness allowance went above 50 percent, a similar recommendation was made.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this issue will be discussed, but no decision has been taken yet. This suggestion was also considered during the fifth and sixth pay commission. In the year 2004, 50 percent DA was merged into the basic salary, but later the rules were changed.

The effect will be seen on the salary-

Central government employees are currently getting 53 percent dearness allowance.

If it is included in the basic salary, there will be permanent changes in the salary structure, which will also affect the allowances and benefits. The government is considering this merger, but no decision has been taken yet.
