Traffic Challan: Delhiites beware, now challan will be issued at petrol pumps
If you own a car or bike and have not updated your PUCC yet, then you are going to be in big trouble. As soon as you go to the petrol pump to fill fuel, you will get a message of a challan of Rs 10,000 on your phone. Let's know -
News Club (Bureau). Traffic rules - A big news is coming for those who drive cars and bikes in Delhi. Actually, the government has become strict about traffic rules and Delhi Traffic Police has made full preparations to deal with those who violate traffic rules. Because, now even if there is no traffic police, if you break the traffic rules, you will not be able to escape.
If you do not update the Pollution Control Certificate, then your vehicle's challan will be issued without the interference of the traffic police. And that too not of 100 to 200 rupees, but of full 10 thousand rupees.
This system will be installed in 100 petrol pumps -
The Delhi government will install cameras and develop software for checking PUC challan at 100 petrol pumps. A tender has been given to a private company for this.
This is how the system will work
As soon as the driver goes to a petrol pump to fill fuel, the cameras installed there will scan the vehicle's registration plate and check the PUCC, the information of which will already be filled in the traffic police system. If the PUCC is invalid, its details will be sent to echallan.parivahan.gov.in.
After this, the employee present at the petrol pump will be asked to get the pollution certificate made. Along with this, this information will also be given on the display present at the pump. Even after informing the vehicle owner about this, if he does not get it renewed, then a heavy fine will be imposed.
A message of Rs 10,000 will come on your phone -
Under this scheme of Delhi Government, if the vehicles coming to the petrol pumps do not have a valid PUCC, they will be given a few hours' time for pollution check.
If they do not get the PUCC made even after this, then an e-challan of Rs. 10,000 will be automatically deducted. Information regarding this will be sent to the vehicle owner through SMS.
