Khabar TV (Bureau): Inflation has troubled people in the last few days or rather say since the beginning of this month of July. The prices of everything from vegetables to pulses have increased. In the last one month, the price of tomatoes in Delhi has increased by 37 rupees per kilogram.
On the other hand, if we talk about the average price in the whole country, it has increased by more than 18 rupees. These conditions are only of government prices, which are released by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. If we measure the prices of street vendors, then the prices of tomatoes in Delhi have crossed 90 to 100 rupees per kilogram (tomato price).
These days, due to the rising inflation, not only Delhi but most of the consumers of the country are troubled. Now a big announcement has been made by the government to give relief to the common people.
Giving relief to the common people, the central government has announced to sell tomatoes at Rs 60 per kilogram. The responsibility of this has been given to the National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India i.e. NCCF. NCCF will start selling tomatoes at concessional rates from its centers from July 29. You will get some relief by knowing that to give relief from the rising prices of tomatoes, the National Cooperative Consumers Union of India will start selling tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 60 per kg in the National Capital Region-Delhi region from Monday.
This step has been taken at a time when tomato prices have risen due to supply disruptions due to recent rains in the producing centers. NCCF said in the statement that this facility will start on July 29, 2024 and will gradually expand to other places in Delhi-NCR in the coming days.
Now tomatoes have become costlier by 37 rupees
For information, let us tell you that according to the data of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, on July 27, the retail price of tomatoes in Delhi was Rs 77 per kg, but depending on the quality and locality, the prices have increased to more than 90 to 100 rupees per kg in some areas.
If we look at the government data, then in the month of July itself, the price of tomatoes has increased by Rs 37 per kg.
On June 30, the government tomato price in Delhi was Rs 40 per kilogram, which was Rs 10 per kilogram less than the onion price. Whereas on Saturday, the onion price was seen at Rs 50 only.
On the other hand, if we talk about the average prices of the whole country, the price of tomato has increased by Rs 18.20 per kilogram. On June 30, the average price was Rs 50.82 per kilogram.

Giving information on this, the association has said that subsidized tomatoes will be available at various places including Krishi Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Colony, Hauz Khas, Sansad Marg, INA Market and many areas of Noida, Rohini and Gurugram.
The initiative aims to stabilize the market and provide substantial cost relief to consumers. NCCF said that this intervention underlines the government's efforts to reduce the effects of rising food prices on consumers.
