The Kalamkar News, India Myanmar Thailand highway: A network of roads and expressways is being laid in the country. Due to the construction of excellent expressways between every big city, the commuting time is also decreasing rapidly. 

This is a story from within the country, but today we will take you on a trip abroad by road. Yes of course, you read it right. India is working on its biggest road project, which will connect 3 countries together. 70 percent work of its expressway has also been completed.

Through this road, one can directly reach Myanmar and Thailand from India. This highway is being called India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway (IMT Highway). This 1,360 kilometer long highway will be made of 4 lanes. There will be 2-2 lanes on both sides of the road.

India has started the construction of this highway under the Look East Policy. This highway will originate from Moreh (Assam) in India and reach Mae Sot in Thailand via Myanmar.

what will be the benefit

Through this highway, trade between India and Asian countries can be increased. Apart from this, the free trade corridor being built between India and Asia will also be strengthened. 

This will also help business, trade, education and tourism sectors and India's trade with Asia will become stronger. From tourism point of view, Thailand can also be reached by road from Delhi or Mumbai. Many beautiful views will be seen on the way too.

Plan to add 3 more countries

India's preparation is not only to connect Myanmar and Thailand by road, but in future 3 more countries will be connected through this scheme. 

India's aim is to develop road routes to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Under this, a total distance of 3,200 kilometers will be covered. 

Anyway, Vietnam is being considered as the economic corridor of East and West. If this corridor is ready, India's GDP will get a benefit of 70 billion dollars annually.
