In fact, people with high economic status (HNIs) are now showing more interest in buying luxury homes. This is the reason why last year a huge increase of 75 percent was seen in the sales of houses priced at Rs 4 crore or more in 7 major cities of the country. 

Real estate consultant company CBRE gave this information in a report released on Wednesday. According to this, among the 7 major cities, Delhi-NCR witnessed the highest growth and the sales of luxury homes here jumped almost three times.

According to this report, 12,935 houses priced at Rs 4 crore or more were sold in the calendar year 2023, while in the year 2022 this number was 7,395 units. In this way, a huge jump of 75 percent was seen in the sales of luxury homes.

Tremendous increase in sales in one year

Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO (India, South-East Asia, West Asia and Africa), CBRE, said, “Amidst the changing landscape, the premium and luxury residential segments are expected to remain attractive as it is supported by favorable market conditions. Is.'

According to the report, sales of luxury homes in Delhi-NCR increased from 1,860 units a year ago to 5,530 units in 2023. 

In Mumbai, this figure increased from 3,390 units to 4,190 units, while in Hyderabad, sales of luxury homes increased from 1,240 units to 2,030 units. Pune saw sales of 450 units last year while in Bengaluru, sales of luxury homes remained stable at 265 units.

Sales remained lackluster in Kolkata

Sales of luxury homes in Kolkata increased marginally to 310 units while in Chennai the number reached 160 units. 

Mohit Jain, managing director of realty firm Chrisumi Corporation, said, 'Due to high economic growth, disposable income has increased and better job opportunities are also increasing. With this, many people have access to a better lifestyle.

India's rapid growth and ever-increasing economic prosperity is expected to accelerate further. According to CBRE data, the total number of houses sold in the year 2023 will be 3,22,000 units, which is nine percent more on an annual basis.
