The Kalamkar News, New Delhi: Honda has announced that it will sell its Elevate SUV for the Indian Armed Forces through Canteen Store Departments (CSD) across the country. 

This means that now the soldiers of the country will get this new Honda SUV absolutely GST free, which can save a lot of money. 

The Elevate becomes the third Honda model to be sold through the Canteen Store Department, as Honda already sells the City and Amaze through CSD in the Indian market.

Engine Powertrain

The Honda Elevate shares its base with the 5th generation City. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates a maximum power of 119bhp at 6,600rpm and a peak torque output of 145Nm at 4,300rpm. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT automatic transmission.

What is the mileage?

Its mileage for manual gearbox is 15.31 km. per litre, while the automatic transmission gives 16.92 km. Capable of giving mileage per litre. 

The manufacturer will not sell the Elevate with a diesel engine. Instead the company will launch an all-electric version of the Elevate within the next two years.

Price and variant?

The Elevate is one of the most affordable mid-size SUVs in the Indian market currently. Its price is between 11.58 lakh to 16.20 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. 

Talking about its variants, the company has introduced it in four variants SV, V, VX and ZX. Automatic transmission is available in all variants except the SV variant.

With whom is the competition?

The Honda Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hayrider, Citroen C3 Aircross, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun.

What are the features?

The Elevate comes with features like LED projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, multi-function steering wheel, push button to start/stop the engine, power adjustable ORVM, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, PM2.5 air filter and front armrest. Standards are met.

The top-end variant is also equipped with

Honda Sensing technology, which is equipped with safety features like ADAS. Apart from this, Honda offers Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lead Car Departure System, Road Departure Mitigation and Auto-Dimming IRVM.
