Pm Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana: On 13 February 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under this program, 300 units of free electricity will be given to one crore houses. Under this, these families also get a grant from the government to install solar panels on the roof of their house.

The Kalamkar News, (Pm Surya Ghar Yojana): People have supported the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. In less than a month, more than one crore people have enrolled for it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has given this information on social media platform X. 

Through this program, one crore houses will get 300 to 300 units of free electricity. This scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on 13 February 2024. Under this scheme, one crore families installing roof top solar panels will also get an income of Rs 15 thousand per year. 

This scheme will provide a subsidy of 60% of the cost of solar power up to two kilowatts to each family. At the same time, 40% subsidy will be given on additional plant of one kilowatt if someone wants to install a plant of three kilowatt. 

The cost of setting up a 3KW plant will be approximately Rs 1.45 lakh. The government will give a subsidy of Rs 78,000 out of that. The government has provided a cheap bank loan for the remaining Rs 67,000.

This scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the budget presented in February. Last week, the Cabinet had approved the Prime Minister Suryaghar Free Electricity Programme. 

It will cost Rs 75 thousand 21 crore. The scheme will provide funds to install solar panels on the rooftops of one crore houses. With this, every family will get 300 units of free electricity. 

Every family will get 60 percent subsidy of the benchmark cost on rooftop solar plants up to two kilowatts. 40 percent additional subsidy will be available on the next one kilowatt. 

The cost of a 3 kilowatt plant will be Rs 1 lakh 45 thousand at current benchmark prices. A subsidy of Rs 30 thousand is given for a one kilowatt system, Rs 60 thousand for a two kilowatt system and Rs 78 thousand for a system of three kilowatt or more.

How to apply online

Step 1: Go to the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in.

Step 2: Enter state, electricity distribution company, electricity bill number, mobile number, email for registration.

Step 3: Login with mobile and consumer number.

Step 4: After this fill the online application.

Step 5: Wait for approval from Discom.

Step 6: After approval, get solar panels installed from Discom's registered vendor.

Step-7: After installation, enter plant details and apply for net meter.

Step-8: After net meter installation and Discom verification, the commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal.

Step-9: After this submit the bank details and canceled check on the portal.

Step 10: Subsidy will be received in the bank account within 30 days.
