The Kalamkar News, Tribal Family Hebal Pradhan: Some people do not let their circumstances dominate them and decide their future, rather they take responsibility of their life and change it through their unwavering dedication and hard work.

One such motivational story is that of a former delivery boy, Hebal Pradhan, who faced a lot of difficulties to pursue MBBS at Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH), Koraput.

However, he is still struggling to repay the loan taken to pay his college fees. Pradhan was born in a deprived tribal family in Medubadi village of Daringibadi block of Kandhamal district. The financial condition of his family forced him to become a delivery boy in an e-commerce firm to support his family.

Along with working, Pradhan also studied and was a good student who dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood. He passed 12th class with first division. However, due to the poor financial condition of his family, he stopped his studies.

To earn money, he started teaching tuition and then moved to Hyderabad, where he again worked as a delivery boy. With whatever money he saved, he started preparing for NEET and ultimately succeeded in it. Currently, Pradhan is fulfilling his dream in SLNMCH.

However, he had to take a loan to pay the fees, which has not been returned yet. The people of his village have appealed to the government for help in repaying the loan.

Pradhan says, "I am a first year MBBS student at SLNMCH in Koraput. At the time of my admission, I needed around Rs 1 lakh. My parents had arranged some money by selling turmeric and I borrowed Rs 85,000 from private moneylenders. Had taken a loan of Rs.

Since we have failed to repay our monthly installments, they are coming to our house and asking for money. I had applied for scholarship from the government in October last year. I am getting the scholarship to help my family and for my studies. "Urgent help is needed to raise funds."
